Open Spotify, go to the 'Home' tab, click on 'View Profile,' and under 'Find Friends,' connect to Facebook or type their username.
I always just ask my friends for a link to their profile. Simple and quick!
Easiest way, just type your friend's Spotify username in the search bar and voila, you'll find them!
You can try searching by their name or username in the search bar. Worked perfectly for me, found all my buddies there!
