Just flip the card and check the date. If it's from 1999 and has no shadow on the right side of the picture, you got yourself a shadowless card, buddy!

Oh, shadowless Pokemon cards are super special! To check if yours is shadowless, you gotta look at the right border of the image. If there's no shadow there, congrats, it's a shadowless card! These were part of the original print run of the Pokemon TCG, so they're kinda a big deal to collectors. Also, shadowless cards only come from the Base Set, so if your card's not from there, it won't be shadowless.

Nah, don't get too excited, shadowless cards are overhyped. Just enjoy the game.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
