How to send a gift card on Steam
Sending a Steam gift card is pretty straight forward. Just head over to the Steam store and look for the 'Digital Gift Cards' section. Choose the value of the gift card you wanna send, add it to your cart, and during checkout, you'll get the option to select a friend from your Steam friends list as the recipient. Make sure you've added them as a friend first, though! After payment, your friend gets a delightful notification about your gift. Easy peasy!

Honestly, just PayPal them the cash. Steam's nice and all for gifting games directly, but for flexibility's sake, cash is king. They can still spend it on Steam if they want, or elsewhere if something else catches their eye.
Been there, done that. Sent a gift card to my buddy last month for his birthday. It鈥檚 super easy and makes for a great last-minute gift. Just make sure your friend's profile is set up to receive digital gifts, otherwise, it's a no-go.
