Ok, so the trick is to have your Sim cook something and just leave it unattended. Literally, walk away and wait for the chaos to happen!
Simple: have a Sim with low cooking skill use the stove. Try making something complicated, then cross your fingers!
Just let your Sim cook something without supervision. It’s only a matter of time before the stove becomes a bonfire.
