Head over to your Facebook settings, click on Privacy, and change the settings to 'Friends' or 'Only Me' wherever possible. Boom, private mode activated!
Make sure you limit past posts in your privacy settings to keep older stuff private too. It’s hidden under 'Your Activity'.
