Hot take: You don't. Not directly, anyway. Focus on finding fragments near wrecks and the Aurora.

The Scanner won't directly scan for the Prawn Suit, but you can scan for its fragments once you've built and upgraded the Scanner Room.

Been there, done that. Just make sure you've unlocked the Scanner Room and the HUD Chip first, then you'll see the option to scan for Prawn Suit fragments.
