I had to manually configure my controls. Go to Options > Controls > Control Setup Wizard and choose the Xbox preset. Then just tweak to your liking.
Use the in-game control wizard, it's super straightforward. Follow the prompts, and you'll be blasting tanks in no time.
Controllers don't work well. Stick to mouse and keyboard for full control. Trust me!
