No 'shaking' needed, just chop it! Trees in Terraria drop what they gotta drop when you cut them down.

Shaking trees in Terraria isn't something you do like in some other games where you just press a button and the tree magically drops goodies. In Terraria, you gotta get down to business with your tools. To 'shake' a tree or essentially get stuff from it, you'll have to chop it down with an axe. As the tree falls, it'll drop wood and sometimes other items like acorns which you can plant to grow more trees. So, grab your axe and start swinging!

Actually, you can't 'shake' trees in Terraria. You cut them down. Trees dropping items when shaken is more a thing in other games, not Terraria. Here, you equip an axe and whack away at the base of the tree to collect wood and sometimes other items. It's all about the chop, chop!
