Start by grabbing the shell and standing close to the wall. Jump up and throw the shell at the wall, then press jump again right when the shell is under you. It'll take some trial and error, but you'll get it!

Ah, the classic shell jump! First, grab a Koopa shell and stand on a flat surface. While holding the shell, jump and then throw the shell against the wall at the peak of your jump. As the shell rebounds, bounce off it! Timing is everything here, so practice makes perfect!

Shell jump? Simple. Grab shell, jump, throw, bounce. Done.

From personal experience, the shell jump took me ages to get right! Grab that shell, jump up, toss it at the wall, and jump off it mid-air. You'll miss a few times, but stick with it!
