You can also go to 'Settings' > 'Captures and Broadcasts' > 'Audio' and disable 'Include Microphone Audio in Broadcasts' if that's your issue.

Just press the mute button on the DualSense controller. It's right under the PS button and will turn orange when muted.

Go to 'Settings' > 'Sound' > 'Microphone' and set 'Microphone Status When Logged In' to 'Off.' Problem solved!
