Smelting ore in Terraria is pretty straightforward! First off, you gotta gather some ores by mining them. Next step, you need a Furnace. You can craft a Furnace using 20 Stone Blocks, 4 Wood, and 3 Torches. Once you've got your Furnace, place it somewhere in your base. Now, just stand near the Furnace with the ores in your inventory, open your crafting menu, and you’ll see the smelting options. Choose what you wanna smelt, and bam, you’ve got yourself some bars ready for crafting!

Quick answer: Get ores, build a Furnace, stand next to it, open crafting menu, smelt 'em.

Honestly, just buy the bars from other players if you're too lazy to smelt. Saves time but costs more coins.
