Honestly, there's no way to really speed it up aside from just letting time pass. Patience is key!
Put the egg in an alien containment tank, and make sure you spend a lot of time nearby. It seemed to help when I did it!
Build an alien containment tank and put the egg inside. Adding a few more creatures in the tank makes it seem to speed up.
