Look for generic usernames and a lack of a profile picture – dead giveaways! Also, check if their posts have low engagement or if they follow way more accounts than follow them back. If you see lots of promotional posts or weird comments, that's a big red flag.

Just look at the follower to following ratio. If it's really off (like 1000 following, 50 followers), they're probably fake.

Been there! I usually check for inconsistencies in their posts, like different photo qualities and styles. Also, Google their profile picture; you might find it's from a stock photo site!

If they DMed you about a giveaway or to follow some sketchy link, it's fake. Trust me.
