Test the weight. Authentic PS3 controllers feel heftier due to quality battery and components. If it feels too light, it might be a fake.

Look at the packaging. Official Sony controllers come in a high-quality box with clear, professional printing. If it looks cheap, it's probably fake.

The analog sticks on fakes tend to be looser and not as responsive. Try moving them; if they feel off, it's not genuine.

Check for the PlayStation logo on the PS button; fakes often have a strange font or logo. Also, the Sixaxis/DualShock 3 text should be clear and not smudged.

Bought one online and it felt off? Same here! The real deal should have a sturdy feel with precise button response. Lesson learned!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
