To tell if a holo Pokemon card is fake, start by checking the card's texture. Real holo cards have a smooth, uniform holo pattern, while fakes often feel bumpy or uneven. Next, look at the coloring. Authentic cards have vibrant, consistent colors, but fakes might look faded or have off colors. Don't forget the edges; real Pokemon cards have clean, sharp edges, and fakes often have rough or fuzzy ones. Lastly, compare the card with one from a trusted source for any discrepancies in font size or type and image placement.

Real simple, shine a bright light through the card. If it's like super see-through, probs fake. Legit holo cards are thicker and don't let much light pass through.

Had a buddy once who tried the bend test on a suspicious card. It snapped back like nothing happened, and yep, it was real. Tried the same on a dodgy one, and it creased. So, bending might work, but it's risky business. Do it at your own card's peril!

One word: weight. Get yourself a precise scale. Fake cards can be lighter or heavier than the real deal, which typically weigh about 1.6 grams each. Weighing them might seem extra, but it's a solid trick.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
