Honestly, you can't completely stop friend recommendations, but turning off the notifications is a solid workaround.
I turned off those pesky friend suggestions by accessing my Facebook settings and disabling People You May Know notifications. It worked like a charm!
Just head to your Facebook settings, navigate to Notifications, and disable the People You May Know option. Easy peasy!
