If you want to stop getting those friend suggestions, you need to disable notification settings in the 'People You May Know' section. Easy peasy!
I've found that adjusting your privacy settings can also help stop those friend suggestions. Go to 'Settings & Privacy', then 'Privacy Shortcuts', and make your profile more private.
Go to your Facebook settings, click on 'Notifications', then 'People You May Know', and turn off the notifications. Boom, no more annoying friend suggestions!
