Spotify loves you, hence why it's always there when you start your Mac. But you can change it in the Spotify settings or Mac system preferences.
In Spotify, go to Preferences and toggle off 'Open Spotify automatically after you log into the computer.'
You can't stop the music, but you can stop Spotify from opening by removing it from Login Items!
Why would you stop the tunes? But okay, just adjust Spotify settings under Preferences.
