On Windows, open Spotify, go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced Settings, and turn off 'Open Spotify automatically after you log into the computer'.
Use Task Manager! Just right-click the taskbar, open Task Manager, go to the Startup tab, find Spotify, and disable it. Boom, done!
Just uninstall it and reinstall when needed. Works every time!
