If War Thunder keeps launching in VR, you can try disabling the VR mode in the game settings. Open the launcher, go to 'Game Settings' and uncheck 'Launch in Oculus VR' or 'Launch in SteamVR' depending on your headset.

Just disable VR mode in the War Thunder game launcher settings. Easy peasy!

Another trick is to unplug your VR headset before launching the game. It should start in normal mode after that.

Had the same issue! I turned off the VR support directly in the launcher settings, and it worked perfectly.
