You don't need any fancy spells or items, just catch a Prismatic Lacewing in the Hallow at night and let it go. But remember, it's like ringing the dinner bell for the Empress of Light, so make sure you're ready for the fight.

Hot take: Wait until daytime to fight the Empress for a real challenge. Defeating her then gives you the Terraprisma, one of the best summons in game. Sure, it's tough, but it's totally worth it!

To summon the Empress of Light in Terraria, you need to catch a Prismatic Lacewing. These are rare critters that only spawn in the Hallow biome at night, specifically from 7:30 PM to midnight in-game time. Once you've caught one, simply release it and then BOOM, prepare for a dazzling showdown with the Empress of Light.
