To summon the Mechanical Worm in Terraria, you gotta craft the Mechanical Worm item first. You'll need 6 Rotten Chunks or 6 Vertebrae (depends on what evil biome your world has, Corruption or Crimson), 5 Iron Bars (or Lead Bars if your world has Lead), and 6 Souls of Night. Mix them all up at a Mythril or Orichalcum Anvil, and voila! You're ready to call the Destroyer to the battlefield. Just remember, you can only use this item at night; if you try it during the day, nothing will happen.

Actually, it's super easy. Just craft a Mechanical Worm at night and boom, boss fight time.

I totally forgot about the day-night cycle thing and tried summoning it during the day once. Spoiler: It was a big oof moment. Make sure it's nighttime in your game, or else you're gonna waste your summon item!
