Just build a bridge lol. Seriously, a long platform across the lava makes it so much easier to move around and avoid falling into lava. You can fight the mobs easily too.

Don't bother, just use the water walking potion and you can literally run on lava. Game changer.
Surviving in Hell in Terraria is all about the prep work! First off, make sure you've got the right gear - Obsidian Skin potions are a must to prevent lava damage. Next up, bring along plenty of platforms to navigate the lava lakes. Also, don't forget to upgrade your weapons and armor; Hellstone gear is pretty solid for this biome. Lastly, keep an eye on those pesky demons and fire imps; ranged weapons or spells work wonders against them!
I tried the whole 'prep and strategize' thing, but honestly, just rushing through with a bunch of healing potions and the best gear you've got works too. Sometimes you gotta embrace the chaos!
