First, back up your data using a USB drive or PlayStation Plus cloud storage. Then, turn off your PS4 and unplug all cables. Open the hard drive bay cover, unscrew the hard drive bracket, replace the old drive with a new one (make sure it's compatible!), and then reassemble everything. Finally, reinstall the system software from a USB drive. Voila!

Honestly, just use an external drive. Way easier and keeps your warranty intact.

I've swapped my PS4 hard drive a few times now. The key steps: back up your data, unplug everything, swap the drives, and reinstall the software. Takes a bit of time, but it's worth it!

Don't forget to format your new hard drive to FAT32 before you start. Makes everything smoother!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
