How to Switch Between Tanks and Planes in War Thunder?
You can switch between tanks and planes by playing the combined battles mode! Just hit the 'To Battle' button and select Arcade, Realistic, or Simulator battles under the Combined Battles tab.

From my experience, you need to unlock a certain aircraft or tank in the tech tree and then assign it to your lineup before battle.
Forget all the complications, just go to the Combined Battles mode. It鈥檚 that simple.
It鈥檚 all about combined battles. Dive in, and you鈥檒l be in both tanks and planes during the match!
Just pick the Combined Battles mode. You'll be soaring the skies and rolling over hills in no time!
