Taking it apart is simple. Just remove the five screws on the back with a Phillips screwdriver and lift the back cover off.

I鈥檝e taken apart my PS3 controller a few times. Start by unscrewing the five screws on the back, then lift the back cover. Be gentle with the internals!

First, grab a small Phillips screwdriver and remove the five screws on the back of the controller. Carefully lift off the back cover, then gently disconnect the battery. Voila, you're in!

PS3 controllers are pain to take apart, don't do it unless you really have to. Easier to just get a new one.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
