First, unplug everything and grab a plastic prying tool. Carefully pop up the plastic clips on the sides of the console. Once inside, it's just a matter of unscrewing and removing components. Follow a guide with pictures if it’s your first time!

Unscrew the back panel, then carefully lift the top cover using a plastic tool. Voila, you're in! Just be gentle with the internals. Maybe have a tech-savvy friend on speed dial.

Don't bother unless you know what you're doing. You could mess it up real bad.

I've torn down my Xbox One S a few times. Start with a T10 and T8 Torx screwdriver, then use a spudger to release the clips. Keep track of all the screws and their placements.

If you're a Xbox player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Xbox gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
