Unfortunately, you can't take cover in GTA San Andreas like you do in the later GTA games. The game didn't include a cover system. Instead, try using the environment to your advantage by standing behind walls or cars during shootouts. It's all about positioning!

Gotta improvise in San Andreas, my friend! No fancy cover system in this classic. Run, jump, and use those cars and buildings to dodge bullets. Ol' school style.
