Make sure your PS4 is powered down and unplugged. Firmly grip the glossy part of the cover and slide it to the left. No tools needed!

Why would you take it off? But if you have to, power down, unplug, and slide the top cover off to the left. Easy peasy.

I’ve done this a bunch of times. Just power off, unplug, and slide the top panel to the left. Don’t force it, it should come off smoothly!
