To target a ship's engine in Starfield, use the targeting system while in combat. Aim specifically for the engine section which is typically at the rear of the enemy ship. Happy hunting!

I've found the best way is to upgrade your targeting system and practice aiming at the back of the ship. It gets easier with time!

Make sure you have the right weapons equipped for precision shots. Get behind the enemy, lock onto their engines, and fire away. It's all about position and timing.

You just gotta aim for the butt of the ship. Simple as that.

In my experience, you can focus on targeting engines by getting to a good angle behind the ship and selecting the engine as your primary target in your ship's targeting system.
