Look at the 'Sony' logo on the controller. If it’s off-center, blurry, or the font is wrong, it’s probably a fake. Trust me, I got burned once with a cheap knockoff that barely worked.

Check the weight! Genuine PS3 controllers are heavier and feel solid. Fakes tend to be lighter and feel cheap. Also, the buttons on a fake one might be less responsive.

A quick giveaway is the packaging. Real PS3 controllers come in neat, well-sealed boxes with high-quality printing. If the packaging looks dodgy, it's probably a fake.

First thing to check is the PlayStation logo button; fake ones usually have a poor quality print or slightly different design. Plus, authentic controllers have a smooth, solid feel and no weird gaps in the seams.

Honestly, just buy it from a reputable retailer or directly from Sony. Saves you all the hassle of wondering.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
