How to tell if a metal Pokemon card is fake

First off, real metal Pokemon cards aren't a regular thing in legit card sets, so if you've got one, chances are it's a novelty item rather than an official TCG card. Most official Pokemon cards are made of a high-quality cardstock, not metal. But if you're looking at potential fake regular cards, check the card's texture and weight. Official cards have a certain heft and smoothness to them. The printing quality is also a dead giveaway; official cards have crisp, clear images and text, whereas fakes often look blurry or pixelated. Lastly, always compare with images from a reliable source!

Lemme tell you straight, if it's metal, it's a fake. Pokemon doesn't officially release metal cards. Easy peasy.

Actually, got a 'metal' Pikachu card as a gift once. It was pretty cool but definitely not from an official Pokemon TCG set. It's mostly for show or a collectible from a fan-made set. Still neat though!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
