Honestly, the easiest way is just to Google the card's name and see what comes up. If it's selling for more than a few bucks, it's probably rare.

Just look for the holographic finish. If it's shiny, it's definitely rare or even ultra-rare. I've been collecting for years, and those shiny ones always get my heart racing!

First off, check the bottom right corner of the card - if there's a symbol there, it tells you the card's rarity! A circle means it's common, a diamond is uncommon, and a star means you've got yourself a rare one. Also, some ultra-rare cards have unique symbols like a star H or three stars, not to mention, texture differences can be a huge giveaway. Finally, the card's color can hint at rarity too, with white being more common and gold... well, you've struck gold!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
