Easy. Look for the star symbol at the bottom. No star? Not rare. Also, full art or cards with shiny, holographic finishes are usually a dead giveaway for rares.

Honestly, just google the card. If it's selling for more than a couple of bucks, it's probably rare. Plus, online databases can tell you exactly how rare it is.

Check the bottom right corner of your Pokemon card for a tiny symbol. A circle means it's common, a diamond indicates it's uncommon, and a star means it's rare. If you see a star H (holo) or three stars, congrats, that's ultra-rare! Some cards might also have unique symbols like a prism shape, which are special rare cards. Don't forget to look out for texture differences and alternate card colors, those are also signs of rare cards.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
