Not all that glitters is gold, but in the Pokemon TCG world, it might just be shiny! Shiny Pokemon cards usually have a unique shiny logo or symbol somewhere on the card, aside from the obvious holographic gleam. If you're ever in doubt, check online databases and compare your card to confirmed shinies.

Easy peasy! Shiny Pokemon cards have a distinct glitter or holographic pattern that's not on the regular cards. If the card looks like it's sparkling or has a rainbow sheen when you tilt it in the light, congrats, you've got a shiny! Also, shiny Pokemon often have different coloration than their regular counterparts, so keep an eye out for unusual colors.

lol just look for the bling. If it shines, it's a shiny. Simple.

Honestly, lots of folks get too caught up in the shiny hype. Yeah, they're cool and all, but don't forget the joy of just collecting and playing. Shine or no shine, love your Pokemons all the same.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
