First off, check the bottom of your card for a symbol. Common cards have a circle, uncommons have a diamond, and rares have a star. If you see a star, congrats, you're in rare territory! Another tip, look for a holographic finish, especially on the artwork; that's usually a sign of something special. Also, keep an eye out for cards with low print numbers, unique artwork, or misspellings—those can be super rare and valuable.

Honestly, just Google the card. There's probably a bunch of collectors out there drooling over it if it's rare.

Stars at the bottom, shiny bits, and weird errors. That's the rare card starter pack.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
