Just flip the card over and look for a star. Got a star? That's a rare one!

First off, check the bottom right corner of your card for a symbol. Common cards have a circle, uncommon cards sport a diamond, and rare cards proudly display a star. If you've got a star, congrats, it's rare! Also, look out for holographic cards; if your Pokemon or the entire card has a shiny, iridescent finish, that's another sign of rarity. Lastly, check the card number; if it's higher than the total number in the set, you've got yourself a super rare or secret rare card.

Not all rare cards are worth a lot though. Remember, condition and demand also play huge roles in a card's value. I've had some rare cards that weren't worth much because nobody really wanted them, while some uncommon ones sold for more because they were in high demand for gameplay or collection purposes.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
