As a veteran Splatoon player, I can say lag spikes are usually normal. DDoS attacks are rare!
If your connection suddenly becomes laggy, slow, or you get disconnected frequently, you might be experiencing a DDoS attack. Just make sure it's not your Wi-Fi acting up first!
