Dude, just use a magnifying glass and look at the rosette patterns on the card. If the patterns are not consistent or if the text borders are fuzzy, you're probably looking at a proxy.

Honestly, most proxies are super obvious. Just play it cool and use real cards; it's not worth the headache.

One of the easiest ways to spot a MTG proxy is to check the light passing through it. Real MTG cards have a specific blue core that you can see when you hold it up to a light. If it doesn't have it, chances are it's a proxy. Also, the feel and texture of the card can be a giveaway; real cards have a distinct feel that's hard to replicate. Lastly, the print quality on a proxy can often be off; look for blurriness or color differences compared to genuine cards.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
