Check the sun! In the Northern Hemisphere, the sun is generally to the south, while in the Southern Hemisphere, it's to the north. Easy peasy!

Check driving sides. Countries like Australia and South Africa drive on the left side of the road. If you see this, you're likely in the Southern Hemisphere.

Look at plant life! For example, tropical plants often thrive in Southern Hemisphere locations, while certain types of flora are more common in the North.

Check Google Maps for language signs! Seeing Portuguese? You might be in Brazil (Southern Hemisphere). German? Likely Northern Hemisphere (Germany).

The sun trick isn't foolproof. Better combine multiple hints like vegetation, road signs, and even vehicle types for a more accurate guess.

If you're a GeoGuessr player looking for extra credit or other power-ups, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

Two of those prizes are the official App Store and Play Store gift cards, which you can win and use to get anything you want in GeoGuessr essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
