Telling original Pokemon cards from fakes can be tricky, but there's a few dead giveaways. Check the card's texture first—real cards have a distinct smooth feel and a clear, glossy finish. The colors should be vibrant, not washed out or too dark. Original cards also have a uniform border. Peep the back too; it should match the official design perfectly. Don't forget the light test: Hold it up to a light; if it's too transparent, chances are it's a fake.

Just weigh them! Real cards have a specific weight to them because of the quality paper used. Most fakes feel lighter or heavier in comparison.

Look at the card's font, especially the HP and attack numbers. Official cards use a consistent font that's easy to read and not blurred. Fake cards often mess this up.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
