Check the card's font too! Fake cards often use the wrong font or have spelling errors. Seems obvious, but you'd be surprised how many fakes mess this up.

First off, check the card's texture; real cards have a distinct, slight roughness, especially if it's a holographic card. Fakes often feel smoother or glossier. Also, look at the coloring. Genuine cards have vibrant, consistent colors whereas fakes might look washed out or have color bleeding. Don't forget the light test: Real Pokemon cards have a thin layer of black inside, so when you hold them up to a light, they shouldn't be see-through. Lastly, the edges on real cards are clean and even, but fakes might have poorly cut edges or excessive fraying.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
