Simple: Just look at the bottom of the card. There's always some symbol or text indicating the set.
As a long-time collector, here's a tip: those little symbols are everything. Each represents a different set, and some editions have variations identified by these symbols. And remember, some really rare cards might not look fancy but could be super valuable because of their edition. Always double-check!
Figuring out the edition of a Pokémon card is like being a detective, but instead of a magnifying glass, you need your eyes on the card! Look for a symbol on the card, usually at the bottom right corner. Depending on the set, it could be anything from a little star to letters or a specific design unique to that set. The absence of a symbol often means it's from the Base Set – the OG of Pokémon cards. For newer sets, you can also check the card's bottom left for a tiny set code and card number, which can help you pinpoint the specific set and edition!
