How to Tell Which Generation Pokemon Cards Are

Check the card's bottom right corner for a small symbol - it's the set symbol that tells you which expansion, and thereby which generation, the card belongs to. The expansions correspond to different generations. For example, cards with a little flame symbol are from the Base Set, which is part of the 1st Generation. There's also the card number over the total card number in the set, also at the bottom. Plus, the card design changes a bit from generation to generation, so once you get the hang of it, you'll start noticing!

Just Google the card name plus 'Pokemon card generation'. Seriously, it's the quickest way to find out without having to memorize symbols or set names.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
