To throw a molotov in State of Decay 2 on PC, equip it first by holding 'Tab' to bring up the inventory menu, then select it. With it equipped, aim with the right mouse button and press 'Middle Mouse Button' or 'G' to throw it. Happy zombie roasting!

From my experience, pressing 'G' to throw the molotov after equipping it works like a charm.
