In my experience, using the directional hitting system helps. Concentrate on your plate coverage indicator (PCI) and wait for your pitch. Practice makes perfect!

Honestly, just spend time in batting practice. Focus on recognizing pitch types and their speeds. Timing comes with repetition and patience!

I've noticed that lowering the pitch speed sliders a bit in single-player modes can help you get better at timing. Once you get the hang of it, bring the sliders back up to normal for a real match!

Turn off all the fancy settings and go back to basic hitting. Simple is better!

Timing your swing in MLB The Show 23 is all about practice and watching the pitcher's release point closely. Try using the batting practice mode to get a feel for different pitchers and their speeds. You'll want to start your swing just as the ball is leaving the pitcher's hand and make adjustments based on the pitch type.
