You can also use the Transfer Code method. Go to 'Menu' > 'Other' > 'Device Transfer/Back Up' and get your Transfer Code. Enter this code on your new device to transfer the data.

I've done it before by linking my data to my Facebook account. Just go to 'Menu' > 'Support' > 'Data Transfer', and log into Facebook. When you install the game on a new device, just log into Facebook there too!
