I've done this a few times. Use the Transfer Code method: Go to the in-game menu -> 'Other' -> 'Data Transfer' -> 'Transfer with Transfer Code.' Follow the steps to generate a code and save it somewhere safe. Use that code on your new device to transfer your account. Works every time!
