Save data can't be transferred directly. Use Save Data Cloud Backup with Nintendo Switch Online instead.
You can't directly transfer Splatoon 2 save data from one Switch console to another. However, you can migrate user data through the System Settings, as long as you have both systems with you.
From personal experience, I managed to save my Splatoon 2 progress by using the Nintendo Switch Online's cloud save feature. It's a lifesaver!
