In a Facebook Group: Go to the group settings, find the 'Manage Discussion' section, and turn off the 'Comments' option. Boom, no more comments!
You can't completely turn off comments on your profile posts, but you can limit them to just your friends or only yourself. Check the privacy settings for more control.
